1924 Wolverine No.56 Bizzy Andy Trip Hammer in Original Box
Simple, yet elegant tin litho and steel "Bizzy Andy" Trip Hammer manufactured by Wolverine Mfg. Company. Includes all six original colored clay marbles, marble box, plus original toy box. Toy works great! Wolverine first produced their mechanical toys using sand as the "power generator". Their second generation of toys began in 1924. Six, 1" diameter colored clay marbles replaced the sand. They were less messy, but were easily lost. This example is complete with all six of its original clay marbles, plus the plain cardboard tube box they came in. The toy was colorfully designed and is mesmerizing to watch. The upper tin litho red chute was decorated in red and yellow and includes the toy name on both sides. In addition the company name was lithoed on the underside and five patent dates on one end. The marble fill up the chute. They're dropped one by one into the cantilevered hammer head (blue barrel looking thing). A set of steel rods supports the contraption and the marbles drop into a self contained base. It comes apart and assembles easily. The multicolored two piece box features a working schematic on the cover. Explicit instructions were also printed along side. They make a fine cover design plus eliminated the need for a separate instruction sheet. Green, red, yellow, and blue circle shapes cover the remaining sections of the box.
